Book Adaptations Coming Soon to a TV or Theater Near You

Librarians have to keep up on so much these days. Books, movies, technology, trends and so on. Sometimes it can be exhausting. Other times, it can be fun. Like when you find out about upcoming book adaptations. It's always exciting to learn about things before they happen - it's like having an inside scoop.

Below, are a handful of book adaptations coming out soon. If you haven't already, check out the books from the Library before watching the television or movie versions.

Amy Poehler is directing the adaptation of Moxie for Netflix!

Vanity Fair’s Gwyneth Hughes is adapting The Five by Hallie Rubenhold, which looks at the lives of the five victims of Jack the Ripper.

The Haunting of Hill House is getting an anthology treatment with its second season, which is supposedly based on The Turn of the Screw.

Don Winslow’s books The Border, The Cartel and The Power of the Dog have been acquired by FX to be adapted into a series.

New details about the upcoming Lord of the Rings series coming to Amazon have emerged. And if THAT doesn’t get your geek on, here’s the new trailer for the J.R.R. Tolkien biopic called – wait for it – Tolkien.

An update on the series based on the wonderful Children of Blood and Bone.

Get your tissues ready: Kristin Hannah’s tearjerker Firefly Lane is coming to Netflix.

The Wizard of Oz books are being developed into a TV series.
